Frequently asked questions.
Certified
Is a translation from Fast Translation Services legally valid in Spain?
For official use, validity comes from certification, not just accuracy. Our Certified/Sworn Translation service is certified by a translator appointed by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC), carrying the stamp, signature and certification formula that make it formally valid before any Spanish authority. If a Spanish body rejects one of our sworn translations on formal grounds attributable to our work, we re-issue it free of charge.
What’s the difference between "traducción jurada" and "traducción jurídica"?
“Jurada” (sworn/certified) means a MAEC-appointed translator has stamped and signed it, giving it formal legal status. “Jurídica” (legal-subject-matter) means the translation handles legal content precisely — contracts, filings, correspondence — without certification, because the receiving party doesn’t require it. See our Legal Translation page for the full explanation, or our Certified page if you already know you need certification.
I'm not sure if my document needs to be sworn — how do I find out?
Tell us who’s asking for the translation and, if you can, in what words — many Spanish offices state "traducción jurada" explicitly on their checklist. If you’re unsure, contact us with your document and destination before ordering, and we’ll tell you honestly which of our services actually applies.
Do you translate from Spanish into other languages, or only into Spanish?
Both directions. Across our three language tiers, we translate into and from Spanish for all 33 listed pairs, sworn and standard.
Pricing & Payment
How do I pay for my order?
You can pay online by card, or by bank transfer. If you choose bank transfer, your order is marked "awaiting transfer" until the payment arrives, and we send you our account details and your order reference.
Do I get an invoice?
Yes. Every order is confirmed with an order reference and a summary showing the exact service, options and total paid, which we can issue as a formal invoice on request — useful for gestorías, law firms and companies claiming the cost.
I'm a business outside Spain with an EU VAT number — do I pay the 21% IVA?
If you enter a valid EU VAT number for a business registered outside Spain at checkout, IVA is removed from your total; the field appears when you toggle "business buyer" during checkout.
Is my payment information safe?
We don't store payment card details ourselves. Card payments are handled through our checkout screen; bank transfer means you pay directly from your own bank, using the reference we provide.
Delivery
How long does a translation take?
It depends on the service and language tier. Certified and legal translations take 24–72 hours; medical, technical and financial translations take 48–96 hours, reflecting the extra subject-matter review; localization projects take 3–10 working days; apostille handling takes 5–15 working days, set by the issuing authority, not by us. Every service page shows its own window before you order.
Can I get my translation faster than the standard window?
For most document translations, yes: 24-hour express (+35%) and, for Tier A languages ordered before 11:00 CET, same-day delivery (+60%) are both available as a live option in the price calculator, not a hidden fee.
What file formats do you accept, and what will I receive?
We accept PDF, JPG, PNG and DOCX for upload, up to 10MB per file — a scanned or handwritten original just carries a small formatting surcharge, shown before you order. Delivery is a digitally signed PDF by email as standard; a paper original with a wet-ink stamp is available by post or in person for an additional fee.
Do you deliver internationally?
Yes. A digitally signed PDF is delivered by email anywhere in the world at no extra cost; a paper original can be sent by registered post within Spain (€12), the EU (€24) or the rest of the world (€34).
Legal & Privacy
How do you handle confidential documents?
Your documents are handled within the EU, and you can request a confidentiality agreement or NDA before sending us anything sensitive. On request, we delete your documents from our systems once your order is complete.
What happens if there's an error in my delivered translation?
Tell us within 14 days of delivery and we'll correct it or fully re-translate the affected text at no cost. If we can't resolve it to a professional standard, we refund the affected portion in full. Full detail is in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Can I cancel my order after I've paid?
Yes, with terms tied to timing: a full refund if work hasn't started yet, and a pro-rata refund minus a €15 administrative charge once translation is underway. Once a sworn translation has been stamped, signed and delivered, it can't be refunded — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for the complete terms.
What personal data do you collect, and how is it used?
We collect what's needed to deliver and invoice your order — your name, contact details, the document you send us, and payment information — and process it under GDPR. Full detail, including your rights and how to exercise them, is in our Privacy Policy.
