Before translation
A foreign certificate arrives without an apostille, and the Spanish authority receiving it needs one before a sworn translation is even worth ordering. We apostille first, then translate.
After translation
A Spanish document you’re sending abroad needs to be apostilled once it’s been sworn-translated, so the destination country recognises both the original and the translation. We sequence this correctly so nothing is submitted out of order.

Do I need the apostille before or after translation?
It depends on the document and where it’s going. As a general rule, a foreign document destined for use in Spain is apostilled in its country of origin before translation; a Spanish document going abroad is usually apostilled after its sworn translation is complete. What’s the difference between your handling fee and the government or notarial fee?
Our €89 is what we charge for identifying the right authority, preparing and submitting your file, and tracking it. The government’s or notary’s own fee is a separate cost we pay on your behalf and pass on at cost — we never mark it up.
Which authority issues the apostille for my document?
It depends on the document type: public administrative documents, notarial documents and court documents are apostilled by different bodies in Spain. We identify the correct one for your document as the first step, before anything is submitted.
How long does an apostille actually take, and why is it longer than a translation?
5–15 working days, because the apostille itself is issued by a government authority or notarial college, not by us — our part of the timeline is fast; theirs is the variable.
Can you get the apostille for me, or do I have to do that part myself?
