Questions about this service
What exactly makes a translation "sworn" rather than just translated well?
The stamp, signature and certification formula of a translator appointed by Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC). Accuracy alone doesn’t make a translation "sworn" — the legal status comes from who signs it and under what appointment.
Do I need a sworn translation, or would a standard translation be accepted?
It depends entirely on who’s asking for it. If an official Spanish body has used the words "traducción jurada," you need this service. If you’re not sure, our Legal Translation page explains the difference, and we’ll tell you honestly if the sworn service is more than your situation requires.
My document is a photocopy or a scan — can you still produce a sworn translation from it?
Yes. A scanned or handwritten source document is fine; a small formatting surcharge (+15%) applies and is shown in your price before you order.
Can I get a sworn translation of documents in the name of more than one person, such as a joint marriage certificate?
Yes — one document, one price, regardless of how many names appear on it.
What happens if the receiving office asks for a paper original with a physical stamp, but I ordered the digital PDF?
