Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 22 July 2026
1. Cancelling before we start work
If you cancel before we've assigned a linguist and started work, you get a full refund, with no fee. In practice, this window is normally a few working hours after you order.
2. Cancelling once work is under way
If you cancel once translation has started, you pay only for the portion already completed, and we deliver that portion to you; we refund the balance. A €15 administrative charge applies. We issue the refund within 14 days of confirming your cancellation.
3. Our quality guarantee — free correction or redo
If your delivered translation contains an error, an omission or a terminology problem attributable to us, tell us within 14 days of delivery, and we'll correct it or fully re-translate the affected text at no cost. If we can't resolve the issue to a professional standard, we refund the affected portion in full.
4. Certified and sworn translations
Once a sworn (jurada) translation has been stamped, signed and delivered — digitally or on paper — it is non-refundable. Certification by a translator appointed by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC) is a personally executed legal act that cannot be withdrawn once it's issued. This does not limit your rights under section 3 above: any error attributable to us is still corrected and the document re-issued free of charge.
5. If a receiving authority rejects a sworn translation
If a body in Spain rejects one of our sworn translations on formal grounds attributable to our work — a missing certification formula, stamp, signature or pagination — we re-issue it free of charge. Rejections caused by the source document itself, or by a requirement you didn't tell us about, fall outside this guarantee, but we'll always quote you honestly for the extra work at cost.
6. Apostille, legalisation and notarisation
Government, notary and courier fees we pay to third parties on your behalf are non-refundable once we've submitted your file to the relevant authority. Our own handling fee is refundable in full for as long as your file hasn't yet been submitted.
7. Interpreting bookings
Cancel free of charge up to 72 hours before your booked assignment. Between 72 and 24 hours before, we charge 50% of the booked fee; inside 24 hours, or if you don't show up, we charge the full 100%. Travel and accommodation we've already committed to on your behalf are charged at cost.
8. Your EU right of withdrawal
As a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason (Directive 2011/83/EU; Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007). Because our turnaround commitments mean we start translating almost immediately, we ask you at checkout to expressly request that work begins right away, and to acknowledge that once the service is fully performed you lose this right of withdrawal — a mandatory, unticked checkbox at checkout, and your choice is shown again on your order confirmation page and order reference. If you'd rather keep the full 14-day period and are content for work to start once it's passed, contact support@fasttranslationservices.com before ordering and we'll arrange it manually. If you withdraw before the service is fully performed, sections 1 and 2 above apply: a full refund if work hasn't started, or a proportional refund for work already done.
9. How we pay refunds
We always refund to your original payment method, in euros, within 14 days of approving your refund. We don't reimburse bank charges on international transfers.
10. Disputes
Contact support@fasttranslationservices.com first — we resolve most issues directly. As a consumer, you can also use the EU's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. This policy is governed by Spanish law, and any dispute is subject to the courts of Zaragoza, without prejudice to your right, as a consumer, to bring proceedings before the courts of your own place of residence.
