How sworn translation actually works in Aragón
If you live in Zaragoza, you may have heard that a sworn translation has to come from a translator based in the same province, or that a stamp issued in Madrid or Barcelona won’t be accepted here. That isn’t correct.
A traductor jurado in Spain is appointed by the Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, Unión Europea y Cooperación (MAEC) — the appointment is national, not provincial. A sworn translator anywhere in Spain can produce a certified translation for use in Zaragoza, and a Zaragoza-based sworn translator’s stamp is equally valid in Madrid, Barcelona, or any other province.
In practice, this means you have two genuinely equivalent ways to work with us: order online from anywhere and receive a digitally signed PDF (or a paper original by post), or visit our Delicias office in person. Neither route is more "official" than the other — the choice is convenience, not legal risk.

Bring your original document to C. de Martón y Gavín, 10, Delicias, 50017 Zaragoza, drop it off, and collect the stamped paper copy once it’s ready — or, for short documents, wait, depending on the day’s workload. Bring the original or a clear copy of the document you need translated and a form of ID. We’ll confirm the price and turnaround with you before starting work, exactly as you’d see it online.
Ordering online
Most clients — including many based in Zaragoza — order online: upload your document, configure the language pair and urgency, pay, and receive a digitally signed PDF by email. A digitally signed PDF is accepted for most procedures without a paper original, which is why the in-person visit is usually optional rather than required, even for someone who lives five minutes from our office.
What Zaragoza institutions typically ask for
We have no formal relationship with the bodies below — this is general information about what they typically require, based on published requirements and the documents our clients bring us. Always confirm the current requirement with the specific office handling your file.

Registro Civil de Zaragoza
For marriages, births or deaths involving a foreign document, the Registro Civil typically requires a certified (jurada) translation of the foreign civil-status document, often alongside its apostille or legalisation.

Universidad de Zaragoza (homologación)
Degree-recognition files usually require a sworn translation of the foreign degree certificate and academic transcript, matching the original’s pagination and formatting.

Subdelegación del Gobierno en Zaragoza
Residency, work-permit and other Extranjería files commonly require sworn translations of birth certificates, criminal-record certificates and other supporting civil documents.

Zaragoza courts and local notaries
Court filings, powers of attorney and deeds involving a foreign-language document generally require a sworn translation; a notary may separately require the sworn translator’s signature to be notarised, which we offer as an add-on.

Local turnaround & collection
For documents dropped off in person at Delicias, standard turnaround is the same 24–72 hours as our online service, but same-day collection is possible for short documents (under 300 words) ordered before 11:00 CET, subject to translator availability that day — ask at the counter when you drop off your document. Paper copies not collected within 30 days are held at the office; contact us to arrange late collection or postal delivery.
Zaragoza questions
I need an apostille in Zaragoza — where do I get one, and can you help?
In Aragón, apostilles for Spanish public documents are issued by the Secretaría de Gobierno del Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Aragón, in Zaragoza, or by the relevant notarial college for notarial documents. We don’t issue apostilles ourselves — that’s a government function — but our Apostille & Legalisation Assistance service handles the paperwork, tells you which office your specific document needs, and keeps the government fee separate from our handling fee.
Will a sworn translator based in Madrid or Barcelona be accepted in Zaragoza?
Yes. As explained above, MAEC appointment is national. A Zaragoza institution cannot lawfully reject a sworn translation solely because the translator is registered in another province.
I have a document in Aragonese, from a border area — can you translate it?
Catalan is one of our standard Tier A language pairs, so a Catalan document goes through the online configurator like any other Tier A language. Aragonese is different — it isn’t one of our standard listed pairs. Contact us with the document and its source language before ordering, and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can find a qualified translator for it and, if not, point you toward a resource that can.
Do I need an appointment to visit the Delicias office?
No appointment is required during opening hours, but if you’re bringing a complex file or want to discuss your document before ordering, calling ahead at +34 973 90 95 43 means someone can review it with you as soon as you arrive.
Can I collect a sworn translation on behalf of someone else?
Yes — bring the order reference and your own ID. The original client doesn’t need to collect the document in person.
